This Instructor-led course introduces the deployment of VCS Fabrics with Layer 2/3 features. It is designed to help an administrator configure and manage VCS Fabrics with Layer 2/3 capabilities. This course is based on Brocade Network OS (NOS) v7.0. Hands-on labs are provided to help reinforce lecture materials.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  • Explain VDX switch hardware options supported by NOS v7.0 firmware
  • Install and configure the VCS parameters to create a VCS Fabric
  • Install and configure features such as VLANs, Spannning Tree, and vLAGs in a VCS Fabric
  • Install and configure other features such as SNMP, NTP, sFLOW, AAA, 802.1x and syslog in a VCS Fabric
  • Describe the capabilities of Brocade Network Advisor to monitor and manage a VCS Fabric
  • Explain VCS Fabric features such as Trill, Data Center Bridging and Fabric Shortest Path First
  • Explain Layer 2 and Layer 3 traffic flow through a VCS Fabric
  • Describe and configure automatic Migration of Port Profiles (AMPP) in a VCS fabric
  • Describe and configure Layer 3 protocols in a Brocade VCS fabric using VDX switches
  • Describe and configure Layer 3 security and traffic control features in a VCS fabric
  • Describe and configure Layer 3 redundancy and dynamic routing protocols in a VCS fabric
  • Describe and configure Additional Layer 3 features including multi-tenancy and flow control
  • Describe and configure Fault detection protocols in a VCS fabric

This course is designed for network administrators, system administrators, network architects, systems engineers, and technical support engineers involved with installation, configuration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of Brocade VDX products.
